When wounds just won’t heal
About Us
Who We Are
Wound Access exists to bring healing to individuals burdened by chronic wounds. Our primary method of healing is accomplished through application of skin substitutes. We will send our wound care experts to the patient’s home or facility for assessment and treatment.
Who Needs Us
Patients with wounds that are not healing under traditional treatment plans. (Dressing changes, multiple nurse and office visits, vacs, etc.). Wounds that are not healing or are getting worse for more than 28 days are eligible for coverage by Medicare.
Patients with limited mobility will benefit from our ability to come to their home, rehab facility or long-term care setting.
What makes our treatment different and more effective is our focus on amniotic tissue grafts. The grafts are highly effective in comparison to traditional wound care treatments.
What We Do
Initial Assesment
Our first visit is dedicated to assessing the wound and determining eligibility for grafting. This visit will be conducted by a doctor who specializes in wound care skin substitutes. No treatment will be given during the first visit.
Insurance Approval
Once assessing the wound, we will coordinate with the insurance provider to obtain approval for treatment.
Treatment & Application
Once approved by the insurance provider, we will schedule weekly visits to evaluate and apply the skin substitutes. Initially the site will be prepped, and the first graft will be applied. Following visits will consist of evaluating the site, taking measurements and applying another graft. Treatment plans usually range from 5 to 10 weeks. All visits will be conducted by a doctor or nurse practitioner in the home or facility.
